Vicki is recognized for seeing students as individuals and tailoring practices to their needs
My Journey...
I was an energetic child who was sensitive and highly aware of others; today, I'm described as an empath. As a child, I loved gymnastics; I now realize gymnastics helped connect me to my body and quiet my mind. As I moved into my teenage years, my gymnastics practice faded; and by the time I reached college I often felt anxious and overwhelmed. I was giving so much and I was losing the connection to myself. One day I took a free yoga class. As I focused on my breath and body my anxieties grew quieter and less intense. From that point forward, yoga became my self-care.
In 2014, I moved to San Francisco and started a yoga teacher training program to deepen my practice. I found clarity and peace within myself and became compelled to share what I was learning with others. As a new teacher I believed there was more I could learn and share. I entered a yoga therapy training program in 2016, graduating with more than 1000 hours of yoga training. Now more than ever, I am inspired to help people connect more deeply with themselves.
As a Special Education Teacher and Yoga Therapist I am passionate about yoga being accessible to all individuals. I truly believe yoga is for everyone and there are a magnitude of benefits to be gained from the practice. In 2016, I developed a school based yoga program for diverse learners. I also provide private adapted yoga lessons and welcome all individuals to join me in group.
